The only way muskets were effective was from mass volley fire into massed targets and rapid reloading to repeat the fussilade, three or four times a minute. That is, pretty good at 6 feet, pretty poor beyond that. ![]() Accuracy was somewhat like what we used to get from our Red Ryder BB carbines. In fact, it didn't exist!
